Class Announcements
Enjoy the summer!
 Dear Parents,
I wanted to thank all of you for an incredible year!  These kids were amazing this year and I've learned so much from them.  They've all been successful and grown so much as readers, writers, and mathematicians.  Thank you for all of the support it takes to help them with this success.  I appreciate all of the studying that went on at home.  It's time to celebrate all of your child's hard work!

Over the summer, make sure that you continue to read great books and study multiplication facts.  Your child will come to 4th grade prepared and ready for a successful year!

Enjoy your summer!  Have fun, relax, and make great memories with your family!

Thank you for a great year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dierlam

Thank you!
Parents,
I want to send out a huge thank you!  We have successfully completed all of our SOL tests and the kids are very excited! They all did very well and I am very proud of them!

I also wanted to send out a big thank you for all of the breakfast treats and popsicles during our entire testing period.   This started our SOL days with a smile and they always enjoyed the popsicles when they were finished.  Thank you!
You are the best parents and I appreciate all that you do!

What is the Daily Five?
We have covered all of our reading strategies with our Daily 5 CAFE Menu. We will now use our strategies when we take the SOL test!!!

The Daily Five is a structure that will help students develop the daily habits of reading, writing and working with peers that will lead to a lifetime of independent literacy.

Reading Log and Strategies
The reading logs are looking great and I'm proud of the excellent writing that the students are doing about their books.  The writing helps them to think about and summarize what they are reading at home.  This is a very important skill to have as a GREAT reader.  Check out this reading site to learn more about the strategies we talk about in our classroom.

Remember to read AR books and earn 5 points each month.  Look for the blue dot on the binding of the book and your child's Good Fit number in the inside cover.  Your child should also be using Raz-Kids at home to improve comprehension.  They love this site!
